Riverside, Ca- The Riverside Police Department is investigating a fatal drive-by shooting that occurred on the 4500-block of Mobley Avenue just before 4:30 p.m., Wednesday January 11, 2006, in Riverside.

Preliminary investigation indicates a 17-year-old Hispanic male had a verbal exchange with occupants of a vehicle on Mobley. Moments later, one of the vehicle occupants fired the first of several shots at the victim, who was struck several times.

The vehicle departed the scene traveling southbound on Mobley. Witnesses reported seeing three Hispanic males, late teens or early 20s, in the vehicle, described as a light brown or silver compact car.

The 17-year-old victim was transported to Riverside Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
