Single vehicle traffic fatality
Riverside, Ca- Today at approximately 9:00 AM, a
single vehicle was traveling east on Sunshine St. approaching Lodgepole St. The
vehicle, a white 2000 Mercedes Benz sedan, left the roadway and collided with a
granite light standard. The 73-year-old female driver and only occupant was
found unconscious and in full cardiac arrest by responding emergency medical
personnel.
The driver was transported to Riverside County Regional Medical Center and
attended to by the hospital emergency room medical staff. The driver was
pronounced dead at approximately 10:30 AM by RCRMC medical staff.
The driver's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The collision in being investigated by the Riverside Police Department Traffic
Bureau Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).
