Wells and Coonen Shooting

Riverside, Ca- On April 15, 2005 at 1224 hours, officers responded to the area of Wells Ave. and Coonen Dr., Riverside in reference to a report of several gunshots being heard. While responding to the scene it was determined a single victim had been shot at the location and was inside a vehicle.

It was determined the victim was driving his vehicle on Wells Ave. and was suddenly shot at by the suspect several times, who was driving along side the victim. The victim suffered a single gunshot wound and lost control of his vehicle, which collided with a traffic post and came to rest. The victim was taken to Riverside Community Hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound and is expected to fully recover.

After the shooting, the suspect drove away from the location at a high rate of speed. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult and was seen driving a newer style red, Ford pick-up truck. Anyone with information can call the Riverside Police Department at (951) 787-7911.
