Riverside, Ca- On Wednesday, July 20, 2005, Riverside Police Officers responded to the 6300 Block of Stearns St. regarding a male subject down. On arrival, officers found an adult male subject lying in the street that had been shot in the abdomen. The subject was transported to Riverside Community Hospital via ambulance where he remains in critical condition.

Witnesses said they heard several shots coming from the area of Dewey and La Mirada Way at about 0250 hours. There are no suspects in custody.

The Riverside Police Department Gang Unit responded and is conducting this investigation.
