Riverside, Ca- On April 27, 2005, at 10:30
pm, a 34-year-old male driving a 1999 Ford Explorer was traveling west on
Indiana Avenue approaching Fillmore when a 1991 Chevy Beretta driven by a 21
year old female ran the red light southbound on Fillmore at Indiana Avenue. The
driver of the Explorer was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision and
struck the Beretta broadside in the intersection.
The Explorer was the driven by Michael Taft of Riverside. Both he and his
24-year-old brother, who was a passenger in the vehicle, had minor injuries and
declined to be transported to a hospital.
The driver of the Chevy Beretta was 21-year-old Ruby Guillen, also a Riverside
resident. She was taken to Riverside Community Hospital where she was pronounced
deceased at 12:38 am by Emergency Room physicians. She sustained major trauma
injuries from the collision.
Members of the Riverside Police Department’s (M.A.I.T.) Major Accident
Investigation Team responded and the collision is under investigation. Anyone
