Riverside, Ca- On Thursday September 9, 2004 investigators from the
Riverside Police Department Vice Unit conducted an under cover operation at 3828
La Sierra Avenue reference a non-permitted massage establishment. The Chief of
Police had previously denied a request for a permit at this establishment.
However, the business “Oriental Acupuncture Therapy” continued to operate
without the proper city permits.
An undercover investigator went into the business for a massage and was
solicited by a female employee, Shujun Yang 44 of Monterey Park for
prostitution. Ms Yang was arrested at the scene and was cited for PC 647(b),
Solicitation for Prostitution. The business was closed for operating without the
proper permits. The University of California Riverside Police Department (UCRPD)
and the University Neighborhood Enhancement Team (U.N.E.T.) also assisted in the
investigation.
