Riverside, Ca- On Tuesday, November 23, 2004
Riverside Police Department Narcotics Detectives served a search warrant in the
16000 block of Hoffa Lane located in the unincorporated area of Riverside County
with the assistance of the Riverside Sheriff’s Department. The search resulted
in the arrest of Luis Ortiz Jr., M/H 30 years and Lisa Marie Garcia, F/H 24
years, for manufacturing methamphetamine. Detectives seized one pound of
methamphetamine, twenty gallons of liquid containing methamphetamine, a handgun,
shotgun and $1,000.00. The liquid is capable of producing over fifty pounds of
methamphetamine and has a street value of over $400,000.00. Any lab capable of
producing ten pounds of methamphetamine or more is considered a “Super Lab”.
The Riverside Police Department Narcotics Detectives responded to the 3800 block
of Polk Street in the CIty of Riverside on November 12, 2004 for possible
clandestine lab waste found in a dumpster. Through that investigation they were
able to link Ortiz and Garcia to the lab waste, which directed their
investigation to obtaining a search warrant for the Hoffa Lane location. The
investigation is ongoing and may lead to future arrest and seizures.
