Riverside, Ca- On Friday, June 25, 2004, at
approximately 7:53 P.M. Riverside Police Officers responded to the area of
Victoria and Anna to investigate reports of an injury traffic collision. On
arrival, Officers located a 2003 Honda Civic on its side in the center median.
It appears the Honda, with four occupants, was traveling westbound on Victoria
when the driver lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons. The vehicle
skidded sideways as it left the roadway, struck a palm tree and came to rest on
its side.
Members of the Riverside Fire Department responded and extricated the 18-year
old female driver. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her identity is
being withheld pending notification of her family.
Two of the surviving occupants were transported to a local hospital for
treatment. A front passenger sought her own treatment for complaint of pain.
The Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded
and is investigating this incident.
