Riverside, Ca- On Thursday June 17, 2004
members of the Inland Regional Apprehension Team, a multi-agency law enforcement
task force, arrested 29 year-old John Jason Montalvo in Garden Grove,
California. He will be booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for the
1994 murder of David Worman.
On March 17, 1994 24 year-old David Worman was shot and killed at Rutland Park
located at 6900 Rutland Avenue in Riverside. He sustained multiple gunshot
wounds. Montalvo lived in the area when the murder occurred but has since moved
to Garden Grove. Police are not releasing further details about the case.
In April of 2004 Riverside Police Detective Steve Shumway received information
through the We-Tip Organization that named an eyewitness to the murder. He
located the witness who cooperated with the investigation. Detective Shumway
reviewed the case with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office and
subsequently obtained an Arrest Warrant for Montalvo.
