Riverside, Ca- On January 14,
2004, at 6:18pm, officers of the Riverside Police Department responded to a call
from the Union Pacific railroad regarding a pedestrian that was possibly struck
by the Metro Link train on the tracks between Riverside Drive and Magnolia.
According to witnesses, the woman walked onto the railroad tracks as the train
approached and lay on the tracks. The train was unable to stop in time to avoid
the woman.
The unidentified woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. She is described as
middle aged, approximately 5’5”, 150lbs with brown shoulder length hair. She was
wearing a light blue sweat jacket and pants. Anyone with information about this
person is asked to contact the Union Pacific Railroad Police at 800-892-1283.
Members of the Union Pacific Railroad Police and Metro Link responded to conduct
the investigation.
