Riverside County Peace Officers Memorial Ceremony and Candlelight Vigil

 

Riverside, Ca- On Sunday, May 2, 2004, the Riverside Police Department and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department will host the 21st annual Riverside County Memorial Ceremony, followed immediately by a Candlelight Vigil. This ceremony is held to honor those law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty throughout Riverside County.

A 5K run will begin at 5:30 pm and the ceremony will start at 6:00 pm in front of the Safe In His Arms statue at the Riverside Police Department, located at 4102 Orange Street.

Agencies from throughout Riverside County will participate in the ceremony. The event will include presentation of colors, 21 gun salute, bag-piper, bugler, and helicopter fly-over (Missing Man Formation). Refreshments will be served.

Members of the community, along with the media, are encouraged to attend this ceremony to remember our fallen officers.
