Riverside, Ca- On Saturday April 17, 2004, at 9:57 P.M. Riverside Police Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Massachusetts Avenue after several citizens called 911 to report hearing gunshots. When officers arrived they found two male juveniles, 17 and 16 years old, with several gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. Both juveniles were transported via ambulance to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley. The 17 year old victim, from Ontario, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The 16-year-old victim, from Riverside, underwent surgery and is expected to survive.

Witnesses said they saw two black males in their late teens or early twenties run from the area.
