Riverside, Ca- The Riverside Police Department
has been conducting prostitution related investigations in reference to related
activity along University Avenue. On Wednesday, October 26, 2005, members of the
Riverside Police Department Special Investigations Bureau, including Vice Unit
detectives, continued their investigation and observed a male and female engage
in activity that was consistent with prostitution. Further investigation
resulted in the arrest of the subjects for prostitution related crimes.
Additionally, one of the subjects attempted to bribe one of the detectives by
offering a substantial amount of cash in exchange for releasing her and
destroying evidence.
Arrested were:
Reginald Jabor Gabriel, 23 yrs. old of Los Angeles. He was booked into the
Robert Presley Detention Center for PC 266(h) Pimping.
Jamiece Lacole Richardson, 19 yrs. old of Los Angeles. She was booked into the
Robert Presley Detention Center for PC 67 (Attempting to Bribe a Public
Official) and PC 653.22(a) Loitering for Prostitution.
In addition to the mentioned arrests, Special Investigations Bureau detectives
conducted two parole/probation searches earlier this week related to on-going
prostitution investigations. These searches resulted in several arrests for
outstanding warrants including prostitution, parole violations, and possession
of rock cocaine.
Since September 2005, the Riverside Police Department, including the University
Neighborhood Enhancement Team (UNET), has conducted many anti prostitution
programs along University Avenue. To date, our efforts have resulted in 74
arrests for prostitution related activity.
The Riverside Police Department has dedicated all available resources to
University Avenue and will strongly investigate and enforce all prostitution and
other related laws.
