Riverside, Ca-  A 2002 Toyota Four Runner driven by Ms. Maria Aranda was E/B Alessandro approaching Communications Dr. in the #1 lane of travel. A 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 truck driven by Mr. Raymond Wiest was directly behind the Four Runner.

The vehicles came to a stop at the red traffic signal for E/B Alessandro at Communications Dr. A marked unit from the Riverside Police Department driven by Off. Gavin Lucero was directly behind the Mr. Wiest.

Off. Lucero was unable to stop in time and collided with Mr. Wiest. Mr. Wiest’s vehicle was subsequently pushed in the vehicle driven by Ms. Aranda.

Ms. Aranda suffered from neck and shoulder pain. She was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to Riverside Community Hospital. Mr. Wiest suffered a laceration to the head and hand. He was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and opted to seek treatment from his personnel physician. Off. Lucero was at the scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to Riverside Community Hospital.

The collision is being investigated by the Traffic Bureau of the Riverside Police Department.
