Riverside, Ca- On Thursday, July 7, 2005, approximately 0911 hours, Riverside Police Department officers and Fire Department personnel responded to Eastridge Ave. west of Sycamore Canyon Blvd. reference a “suspicious device” found in the #2 lane of Eastridge Ave. A passing motorist reported that he was driving through the area and noticed the device lying in the roadway. He parked his vehicle and notified law enforcement.

Upon arrival, police closed Eastridge Ave. and re-route traffic. Personnel notified surrounding businesses, however, the businesses were not in any immediate danger and consequently decided not to evacuate. Members of the Riverside Police Department’s Technical Services Unit responded to the location and rendered the device safe.
