Riverside, Ca-  At 1152 hours, officers at La Sierra High School, 4145 La Sierra Avenue, requested assistance reference a fight on campus. Two students began fighting during the lunch break. As campus police and school personnel were breaking up the fight, additional fights ensued. A large crowd of spectators gathered and someone in the crowd ignited a large firecracker.

The fights were broken up and students ordered back to classes as approximately twelve additional officers responded to assist. Four students were detained by police and questioned reference their involvement in the incident. They were released to school personnel pending further investigation. Other than minor injuries to the involved students, no other injuries were reported. Police remained on campus to assist school personnel during dismissal of students.
