Riverside, Ca- On Wednesday, August 3, 2005, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Riverside police officers responded to the 2100 block of Tenth Street, regarding a possible shooting. Witnesses told officers two unidentified male subjects were apparently firing a handgun in the area of Bobby Bonds Park towards an unidentified subject near Tenth and Kansas.

Officers located a 10-year-old female with a single gunshot wound to her right arm. The victim had been sitting in the bed of a truck near the shooting scene when she was struck by a stray bullet.

The victim was transported to Riverside Community hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Riverside Police gang detectives responded and began their investigation.
