Riverside, Ca- On April 23, 2005, at 12:23am,
a 30-year-old female driving a 2005 Nissan 350 Z was traveling east on Central
Avenue at a high rate of speed when she lost control west of Freemont. The
vehicle went into a skid and then over the curb at Shannon where it struck a
light standard and the airport fencing coming to rest on the south dirt shoulder
area.
The vehicle contained the 30-year-old female driver, her 11-year-old daughter
and 14-year-old son. All occupants were transported to Riverside Community

condition with contusions and trauma injuries. The 14-year-old boy sustained a
broken collarbone and punctured lung and was listed as stable. The 11-year-old
girl sustained major trauma and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Prior to this collision the same vehicle was involved in a minor damage hit and
run accident at Van Buren and Clay. The California Highway Patrol is
investigating that collision.
Members of the Riverside Police Department’s (M.A.I.T.) Major Accident
Investigation Team responded and the collision is under investigation. Anyone
