Riverside, Ca- At approximately 2140 hours, Riverside Police Officers responded to Iowa/Palmyrita regarding a traffic collision. The investigation revealed a male pedestrian was crossing Iowa Avenue, north of Palmyrita Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Iowa Avenue.

The pedestrian was transported by medical personnel to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin. The driver was released at the scene. The follow-up investigation is being conducted by Det. R. Whitt.
