Fatal Injury Collision

Location:      Magnolia Av. W/of Nye St.
Time:              5:25 AM

Decedent:    Thomas Jason Macias (27) Riverside, Ca.
Injuries:        Blunt force trauma to the head and body
 

Riverside, Ca-  At approximately 5:25 AM the above individual was the victim of a fatal traffic collision. Mr. Macias was walking E/on Magnolia from Polk St. on the south sidewalk. He ran into the street and jumped onto the hood of a 1991 Toyota driven by Andrea Callens. Mr. Macias then slid from this vehicle and landed in the #2 lane of E/B Magnolia. Mr. Macias remained in the street laying in the #2 lane of E/B Magnolia.

A 1989 Mazda driven by Gene Weber was E/B Magnolia from Polk in the #2 lane of travel. Mr. Weber was unable to avoid colliding with Mr. Macias. Medical aid was summoned to the scene. Mr. Macias was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

The Riverside Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is conducting the follow up investigation.
