Vehicle Burglars Arrested
 

Riverside, Ca-  On 05-21-03 at 0320 Hours Officers Cook and O’Boyle were working the area of Banbury Drive and Diana Avenue due to a recent rash in vehicle burglaries occurring in nearby apartment complexes. Officers observed two suspicious male subjects in the secured parking area of an apartment complex located at 3572 Banbury. The subjects were contacted and later detained reference possession of drug related paraphernalia: Suspect Belmontes had an active felony violation of probation bench warrant for prior a GTA conviction and an active felony arrest warrant stemming from a Moreno Valley residential burglary.

The City of Riverside had three other recent vehicle burglaries, one in the Banbury Area, another in the Canyon Crest Area, and a third in the Victoria Country Club Area. Fingerprints were located on each of these vehicles that later were matched with the known prints of Suspect Belmontes’. These cases were currently in review at the DA’s Office for complaint filing and issuance of arrest warrants.

Suspect Belmontes was booked into RPDC on the felony warrants and the new Riverside burglary cases.
