A.M. Riverside Police officers responded to 3970 University Avenue regarding a
fight involving several men. Upon arrival officers located a 43 year-old
homeless Riverside man lying on the ground with severe head injuries. He was
transported to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition. He
has since been transferred to another medical facility where he continues to
struggle for his life.
Witnesses reported seeing 5 men beating and kicking the man as he was lying on
the ground. The suspects fled on foot prior to police arriving. The victim’s
identity and the motive for the assault are being kept confidential pending
further investigation.
Recently, investigators received information about the suspects involved in this
brutal assault. Four Riverside men have been arrested and will be charged with
Attempted Murder. They have been identified as Thomas Camenga, 25 years old;
Michael Ellison, 21 years old; Jeremy Hitchens, 22 years old; and Frank Taylor,
18 years old.
