Riverside, Ca- Chief Russ Leach is pleased to
announce the promotions of Detective Gary Kossky to the rank of Sergeant, and
Officers Steve Christiansen and Linda Arnold to the rank of Detective.
Sgt. Kossky started his law enforcement career with the Los Angeles Sheriffs
Department as a Sheriff’s Deputy in 1984. After three years with Los Angeles, he
transferred to the Covina Police Department in 1987 where he worked as a Police
Officer. After two years with Covina, he transferred to the Riverside Police
Department as a Police Officer. As an officer, he worked in patrol and was a
member of the University Neighborhood Enhancement Team. He also worked as a
School Resource Officer and Field Training Officer. In 1997, he was promoted to
the rank of Detective. As a Detective, he worked in Domestic Violence,
Burglaries, Intelligence, Sexual Assaults and Child Abuse. He was also a member
of the Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement team.
Detective Christiansen began his law enforcement career as a Police Officer with
the Riverside Police Department in 1986. As an officer, he worked in patrol,
gangs, and vice and narcotics. He also worked as a Field Training Officer, a
Defensive Tactics Instructor and is currently a member of the board with the
Riverside Police Officers Association.
Detective Linda Arnold began her law enforcement career with the Chino Police
Department in 1984 as a Community Resource Officer. In 1989, she transferred to
the Riverside Police Department as a Police Officer. As an officer, she worked
in patrol and was a member of the University Neighborhood Enhancement Team and
the Problem Oriented Policing Team. She was recently assigned to the Office of
the Chief in the Personnel and Training Division.
