Missing Child Recovered, Suspect Arrested

Riverside, Ca-  On February 4, 2003, at approximately 10:00 PM, the mother of 2 year-old Brandon Jones reported that Brandon was missing. Brandon was last seen in Riverside with Brandon’s Grandmother Shirley Jones-Wiltz earlier that morning.
Shirley Jones-Wiltz is wanted by the State Department of Corrections for a Parole Violation and has an active Felony warrant for her arrest. Brandon Jones has a severe asthmatic condition that requires him to receive breathing treatments every 4 hours.

On February 6, 2003, at approximately 6:00 AM, Riverside Police Family Services Bureau detectives developed information that led them to believe the suspect and missing 2 year-old child where at a location in Los Angeles. RPD detectives coordinated the efforts of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southeast Division officers, directing them to the location where they located both the suspect and missing child.

RPD detectives are in the process of reuniting Brandon with his mother. Shirley Jones-Wiltz will be transported to the Riverside County Jail where she will be booked for the parole violation, felony warrant and charges related to this incident.
