Riverside, Ca- The Riverside Police Department has participated in
National Night Out since 1996 and is pleased to once again be part of this event
sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. This program is designed to
education the community in crime and drug prevention by bringing police and
local neighborhood watch groups together for a night of socializing and fun.
The
first National Night Out 2003 event will be held at Myra Linn Park 4540 Meredith
Street in the City of Riverside on Saturday, August 2, 2003 from 4pm-8pm. This
event will include a Cops and Kids Soccer game, Disney Radio, food venders,
information booths and a variety of other activities.
National Night Out 2003 will be celebrated nationwide on Tuesday, August 5, 2003
from 5pm-9pm. On this evening over 30 Neighborhood Watch Groups will host block
parties, ice cream socials, and many other events at various locations
throughout the City of Riverside.
The final event will be held at Bordwell Park located at 2008 Martin Luther King
Boulevard on Saturday August 9, 2003 from 4pm-8pm. The Riverside Police
Department with Park and Recreation will host a Cops and Kids basketball game.
