Riverside, Ca- At approximately 10:36 pm on
4-21-03, officers from the Riverside Police Department responded to the Oasis
Bar at 6158 Magnolia Av regarding a gunshot victim inside the bar. When officers
entered the bar, they discovered a 24 yr old male victim with a gunshot wound to
the chest being attended to by paramedics. The investigation revealed that the
victim was shot as he exited the rear door of the business after a brief
exchange of words with the suspect. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle from
the rear of the business.
The suspect was located inside his vehicle at Magnolia and Tibbetts at
approximately 12:56 am on 4-22-03 and was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was identified as Larry Ford, 47 yrs, from Riverside. After being
interviewed by Detectives from the General Investigations Bureau, Mr. Ford was
booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for Attempted Homicide.
