John Program
 

Riverside, Ca-  On Thursday April 17, 2003 the Riverside Police Department conducted a “John Program” in the area of University and Chicago in the City of Riverside. Members of the Vice Unit, Problem Oriented Policing Team and Field Operations Division conducted the operation which, targeted subjects who solicit prostitutes for sex.

The program lasted approximately six hours and resulted in the arrests of nine subjects. All nine of the subjects were men who were issued citations for PC 647(b), Solicitation of Prostitution and were released at the scene. This program is part of an on going investigation into prostitution in the area and will continue on a regular basis.
