Riverside, Ca- On April 13, 2003, at 0145
hours, officers of the Riverside Police Department responded to a head-on
traffic collision at the residential intersection of Central Av. and Carissa Av.
The drivers involved were mother and son, operating separate vehicles. The son,
William Beverly, 33, of Riverside, was operating a 1990 Nissan 240SX. The
mother, Willie Mae Beverly, 58 of Riverside, was operating a 1994 Honda
Passport. Both vehicles received major frontal damage in the collision. William
Beverly was deceased at the scene. Willie Mae Beverly was transported to
Riverside Community Hospital with major injuries due to blunt force trauma.
The collision is still under investigation. The cause and direction of the
vehicles has not yet been determined. Members of the Department’s Major Accident
Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded.
