Riverside, Ca- On Monday April 7, 2003 at
4:20 p.m. Riverside Police Officers responded to the 11400 block of La Verne
Drive to check the welfare of a man who was feeling suicidal. They contacted the
man whom they identified as 26 year-old Roderick Rossignol, an Army Sergeant
based at Fort Irwin near Barstow, California.
During a search of the residence officers discovered the body of an adult female
inside. She has not been identified and the cause of death has not yet been
determined. Investigators arrested Rossignol and booked him into the Robert
Presley Detention Center for 187 P.C. Murder. Details of the homicide and
Rossignol’s relationship with the female are not being released at this time.
Rossignol, who was listed as Absent Without Leave (AWOL) by the Army, was
staying at the La Verne Drive residence that is the home of his parents.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Coroners Office will release the victim’s
identity after her family has been notified.
