Riverside, Ca- At approximately 5:07 pm on September 23, 2002, officers were called to the area of Linden and Cranford regarding a major injury collision. The preliminary investigation indicates a 1965 Ford Mustang was in the process of exiting the North High School parking lot onto Linden. The Ford Mustang struck a 1992 Isuzu Rodeo that was traveling eastbound on Linden in the #1 lane of traffic. The impact caused the driver of the Isuzu to lose control of the vehicle and overturn in the road. While overturning, the driver and two passengers were ejected from the vehicle. A third passenger in the Isuzu was wearing a seat belt and was not ejected.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. The three passengers were transported to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment. The names have been withheld pending notification of relatives. The driver of the Ford Mustang and her passenger were not injured.
Members of the Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene to conduct further investigation.
