Chief Russ Leach Announces the Promotion of Gary Leach 

Riverside, Ca-  Riverside, CA - Chief Russ Leach is pleased to announce the promotion of Gary Leach to the rank of Police Lieutenant.

Lt. Leach began his law enforcement career as a Sheriff’s Deputy with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in 1985. He transferred to the Riverside Police Department in 1989 as a Police Officer. As a police officer, he worked several special assignments such as School Resource Officer, Special Weapons And Tactics Team (S.W.A.T.), Reserve Officer Coordinator and the University Neighborhood Enhancement Team (U.N.E.T.). In 1992, Leach was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. As a Sergeant, Leach was assigned to Field Operations, General Investigations and Internal Affairs.
