Riverside, Ca- At
approximately 10:40 a.m. officers responded to the 5600 block of Yarborough Dr.
regarding a residential burglary in progress. The witness saw an adult male
arrive in a white truck and park on the street to the front of the house. The
subject then walked up to the victim residence, broke a window, and entered. As
officers arrived on scene, the subject came out of the house and left in the
truck, which had been reported stolen in Riverside County on November 11, 2002.
Officers
attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle, but the driver
failed to stop. A short pursuit ensued throughout the Arlanza area. The pursuit
ended after the suspect vehicle became disabled. The driver then surrendered to
officers without incident.
The
driver was identified as Oscar Aguilar, a 21-year-old Riverside resident. He was
booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for the charges of residential
burglary, grand theft auto, possession of stolen property, evading a police
officer, and violation of parole.
