Riverside, Ca- Chief Russ Leach will be holding a press conference regarding updated information on the criminal investigation and arrests of multiple suspects in the Jeffery Owens Homicide case.
Jeffery Owens 40, of Moreno Valley was fatally wounded in a stabbing attack on June 6, 2002, in the parking lot of the Menagerie bar, located in the 3500 block of University Avenue. Also injured in the attack was Michael Bussee, 48 of Riverside his injuries were not life threatening.
The press conference will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2002 in front of the Safe in His Arms statue:

This incident has been investigated as a possible hate crime.
