Riverside, Ca- On Friday, July 19th
at 2146 hours the Riverside 911 Communications Bureau received a call for
medical assistance at an apartment in the 7900 block of Arlington Avenue. The
caller reported their 3-year-old son was not breathing and unresponsive.
Riverside Fire Paramedics and Police responded to the apartment and found the
boys father attempting rescue breathing. Riverside Fire Paramedics administered
medical aid and the boy was taken in an ambulance to Riverside Community
Hospital.
The child was breathing but
apparently suffering from seizures and high temperature. The Emergency Room
Staff treated the seizures and reported the child’s condition as Critical but
Stable. There is no evidence that the child was either accidentally or
intentionally injured. He was transported to Loma Linda Medical Center for
additional treatment. The cause of the medical emergency is not known at this
time.
