Man Arrested for Rape

Riverside, Ca-  At approximately 11:00 AM on Saturday July 6, 2002, officers from the Riverside Police Department responded to the 8600 block of Arlington Ave. regarding a 261 PC Rape investigation.  Officers contacted the 16 year-old female victim who advised that the rape occurred several hours earlier inside an apartment at the location and that the suspect had left.  While conducting their investigation at the scene, the suspect returned and was arrested.

 Arrested at the location was Lonnie Anthony Sampson Jr. 24 years old of Riverside.  Sampson was booked into Riverside County jail and charged with 261 PC Rape.  Anyone with information may contact Detective Randy Ryder at 320-8046.
