Riverside - A DUI Check Point will be conducted on
12-27-02 in the La Sierra area of the City of Riverside at 8:00 pm. The
checkpoint is a joint effort by members of the Avoid The 30 multi agency DUI
task force. This task force is made up of 30 law enforcement agencies throughout
Riverside County. The funding for this task force is through the California
Office of Traffic Safety (OTS).
The checkpoint will be hosted by the Riverside Police Department and will
include officers from the following agencies:
1) California Highway Patrol
2) Moreno Valley Police Department
3) University of California @ Riverside Police Department
4) Corona Police Department
5) Norco Police Department
The goal of the Avoid The 30 program is the reduction of DUI related collisions
through education, information and enforcement. During this holiday season all
of the involved agencies and OTS encourage people to drive responsibly, use a
designated driver and most importantly do not drink and drive.
