Riverside - At approximately 5:17pm on December 16, 2002,
officers responded to Linden St between Rustin and Iowa to assist UCR PD on a
major injury collision. The initial investigation revealed that an 8 yr old
juvenile male was crossing Linden northbound between Rustin and Iowa when he was
struck by a 1991 Toyota Pick-up that was traveling westbound on Linden.
AMR personnel transported the 8 yr old juvenile to RCRMC where he was treated
for his injuries. He is currently listed in “guarded” condition after sustained
a broken femur and head injury. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
Officers from the Major Accident Investigation Team responded the scene to
conduct further investigation into the collision.
