Riverside, Ca- On Saturday, August 3rd
at 0618 hours the Riverside Police Department responded to the 1800 block of
Linden Street to investigate a neighbor’s report that a 40-year-old Hispanic
female living next door was not breathing and had no pulse. RPD and RFD units
arrived and found an unidentified female adult apparently deceased in a bedroom
of the residence. Evidence at the scene indicates this person intentionally
ingested prescription pills in a successful suicide attempt. The victim has not
been identified.
Another 40-year-old Hispanic
female from the same residence was treated at the scene for a possible suicide
attempt by prescription pill overdose. That victim was transported to Riverside
Community Hospital where she is being treated by emergency room staff and has
been admitted in serious condition. She was not able to provide a statement
about what took place prior to the arrival of the Police and Fire units. A 5150
hold for 72-hour psychological evaluation was placed on this person.
Both victims had been staying
together at the residence for only the past 3 days. Both are believed to be from
the Riverside area.
The Riverside County
Coroner’s Office is handling the suicide investigation involving the
unidentified victim on Linden Street.
