Riverside, Ca- The
Riverside Police Department would like to announce it’s involvement with the
19th annual National Night Out.
National Night Out is a unique crime and drug prevention event sponsored
by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW).
The Riverside Police department has been participating in National Night
Out since 1996.
This year the Riverside Police Department and the City of Riverside’s Office of Neighborhoods are working together for this year’s activities. Our first National Night Out activity will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2002 at Bordwell Park, located at 2008 Martin Luther King Blvd. from 4pm-8pm. This event will host the Cops and Kids Basketball Tournament.
On Tuesday night, August 6, 2002 from 6pm-8pm National Night Out will be celebrated nationwide. On this evening, we will have over thirty (30) Neighborhood Watch and Neighborhood Groups hosting block parties, ice cream socials and many other events at different locations throughout the city of Riverside.
National
Night Out will conclude on August 10, 2002 at Myra Lynn Park, located at 4540
