Riverside, Ca- On Saturday, April 29, 2001, at approximately 9:40 P.M., officers from the Riverside Police Department responded to a reported subject down in the alley adjacent to the Regent Apartments at 3553 Chicago. Upon arrival they located a subject down in the alley on the south side of the complex suffering from a severe wound to the head. The victim, identified as William E. Bennett, White male, 40 years old, of Glen Avon, was transported to Riverside Community Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
Residents in a nearby apartment heard sounds of subjects arguing shortly before police arrived, however could not provide any further information.
