Riverside, CA – On Tuesday, June 26, 2001, Riverside Police Department, in conjunction with the the Los Angeles Sheriff Department’s Metro Link Division and the California Highway Patrol, will be enforcing vehicle and pedestrian safety along the railroad tracks within the City of Riverside.
The "Officer on the Train" program will operate between Vine Street Metro Link Station and the City limits at Buchanan, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Officers will be on the train to witness railroad track crossing violations by both motorists and pedestrians. Officers will be positioned on city streets to further monitor railroad crossings and to issue citations and warnings as appropriate.
