Riverside, Ca- Officers were called to a shopping center in the 3900 block of Chicago Avenue regarding a suspicious device. The call was received at about 1130 a.m., and members of the Department’s Technical Services Unit were requested by the first officers on the scene.
An object appearing consistent with an improvised explosive device was examined and rendered safe at the scene.
The operation caused the temporary closure of one adjoining business, as well as a brief traffic closure on Chicago Avenue. No injuries, property damage, or arrests resulted from the incident.
