Riverside, Ca-
At approximately 7:26 a.m. today neighbors reported seeing two young African
American males break into a residence at 3543 Arlington Avenue. Riverside Police
responded to the scene and set up a perimeter. They made several announcements
with a public address system asking the people inside the residence to come out,
but received no response. Police finally decided to call for a SWAT team to
enter the residence. While this was occurring, Arlington Avenue between Indiana
Avenue and Brockton Avenue was completely closed to traffic. Additionally,
traffic was not allowed to exit HWY 91 at the westbound Arlington Avenue off
ramp.
When SWAT team members finally entered the residence at approximately 1:50 p.m., they found it found it unoccupied. It was confirmed that a burglary had occurred, and items of property were taken, however, how or when the suspects exited the house has not been determined. Normal vehicular traffic was allowed to resume at approximately 2:00 p.m.
