Head-On Collision Causes Three Fatalities

Riverside, Ca-  At approximately 4:45pm on January 14, 2001, a head-on collision occurred on Victoria Avenue near John Street. The preliminary investigation into the collision revealed that a white Nissan sedan was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of Victoria Avenue. The Nissan struck a burgundy Cadillac traveling westbound on Victoria Avenue. A third vehicle traveling westbound on Victoria struck the rear of the Cadillac just after the first impact between the Nissan and Cadillac.

The driver and right front passenger of the Nissan sustained fatal injuries upon impact. The driver and passenger of the Cadillac were transported to Riverside Community Hospital by AMR. The right front passenger of the Cadillac was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The identity of the involved parties are not being released pending notification of relatives. The Riverside Police Department’s M.A.I.T. team responded to the scene for follow-up investigation.
