Riverside, Ca- Investigators from the Riverside Police Department Robbery Unit and Riverside Office of the FBI continued their extensive follow-up investigation regarding the take-over bank robbery that occurred on February 21, 2001 at the Bank of America located in the 5200 block of Canyon Crest Ave., Riverside.
Information was developed that pointed investigators to the 12000 block of Calle Sombra in Moreno Valley. Investigators and deputies from the Moreno Valley Police/Riverside Sheriff Department teamed-up, and detained and subsequently arrested three subjects that were attempting to leave the location. Investigators recovered evidence from an apartment, two vehicles, and the suspects. The evidence included two loaded semi-automatic handguns, police radio scanners, walkie-talkie/hand-held radios, and several bags containing large amounts of dye-stained money taken in the robbery. Two vehicles were towed and impounded.
The following three subjects were booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for multiple counts of 211 PC (Armed Bank Robbery), 245 (a)2 PC (Assault With a Firearm), and 10851 CVC (Grand Theft Auto).
