Riverside, Ca- Riverside Police detectives are continuing their investigation of a bomb incident that led to a fire late Sunday night. On Monday evening, a probation search was conducted, leading to the arrest of two Banning men on explosives and weapons charges.
Members of the RPD Special Investigations Bureau followed leads to the city of Banning, where they contacted a resident who was on probation for grand theft out of San Bernardino County. A search of the man’s home netted a handgun, an improvised explosive device, and drug paraphernalia. Four young children were found to be living in the home, with access to the items. Jeffrey Charles Oyler, 19, and Marco Anthony Gastellum, 20, were booked into the Riverside County Jail for possession of a destructive device and felony child endangering. Oyler was additionally charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. No charges have been brought regarding Sunday’s Wilshire Street incident. Evidence is being analyzed, and the investigation is on-going.
