Pedestrian-2: Vincent Maggio (44), Norco, Ca.
Injuries: Major blunt force trauma to both legs and body. Treated by the emergency room medical staff @ Riverside Community Hospital
Narrative: Mr. Maggio was making a delivery on Gramercy Pl. E/of Golden. As he walked behind his parked vehicle a second vehicle collided with his vehicle from behind. The collision pinned Mr. Maggio between his parked vehicle and the second vehicle. The second vehicle was a 1994 Honda Accord LX station wagon.
After the collision the driver of the second vehicle ran from the scene. Witnesses were able to provide a description of this person to arriving officers. There is evidence in the second vehicle leading the on scene investigating officers to believe this is an alcohol related collision.
Mr. Maggio suffered major injuries to both legs and to his body. He was treated at the scene by members of the Riverside Fire department and AMR. He was subsequently transported to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment by the emergency room medical staff.
The collision is being investigated by the Riverside Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT)
