Riverside, Ca- On the above date and time the Riverside Police Department responded to a report of an injury accident on Cypress just west of Challen. Patrol officers found Riverside Fire personnel attending to a victim still in the street. The 49 year old male pedestrian was crossing the street when he was struck by a car driven by Riverside resident Janet Honanie, 59 years old,
Riverside Police Department Patrol officers were assisted by members of the Department's Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). Upon completion of the investigation, MS. Honanie was arrested for Felony DUI and booked into Robert Presley Detention Center.
The pedestrian was transported to Riverside Community Hospital where he is undergoing surgery for multiple broken bones and other injuries sustained in the collision.
