Attempt Homicide Suspect in Custody

Riverside, Ca-  On April 14, 2001, at approximately 10:00 am, the Riverside Police Department received word that Clifford Garrett, wanted for an attempt murder which had occurred on March 27, 2001, was seen on Chestnut Street between Third and Fourth Streets. Officers responded to the area where they surrounded a house in the 3300 block of Chestnut. Officers ordered the occupants out of the house and several people exited the residence. Clifford Ray Garrett complied with the directions of the officers and he was taken into custody without incident. Garrett was arrested for attempt homicide and for a Parolee-at-Large warrant. William Wilfong, was arrested for a Parolee-at-Large Warrant. Michael Vaughn was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. All three men were booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
