Robbery Arrest

[Riverside, California] -  On Tuesday, September 12, 2000 around 1203 hours, a lone male white entered Tomís Burgers located at 10737 Magnolia Ave. The suspect gave the clerk a note indicating he had a gun and would use it if she did not give him some money. The robber fled out a rear door after receiving an undetermined amount of money from the clerk. The clerk told a citizen in the business, and he followed the suspect.

Riverside Police Department Detectives Vic Williams and Curt Seymore were conducting an unrelated criminal investigation in the 3800 block of Jones Ave. While conducting their investigation, they saw a subject chasing another subject. One of the subjects told them that the other subject had just robbed the Tomís Burgers around the corner. The detectives quickly gave chase and captured the robber at gunpoint. During the arrest, the suspect dropped a several hundred dollars.

Brian Scott Yates, DOB 03-23-70
Corona, CA

Yates was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for multiple counts of 211 PC Robbery.
